During the winter break Márquez has been getting ready for the new season at the Municipal del Segre circuit, located just 3 kilometres from the city of Lleida, so as to be ready for when he gets back on his new Moto2 bike. The Repsol rider is optimistic and in good spirits, doing the most physical part of the 2012 pre-season. Accompanied by his team he regularly does a day`s training on a motocross bike in addition to work together with his physiotherapist and physical trainer, taking care of his fitness and at the same doing many kilometres on a mountain bike and sessions in the gymnasium.

The Repsol rider is leading a normal life after the latest medical checks have confirmed that his recovery is going according to plan. He is motivated by the fact that he can start the new season in optimum form, but Márquez is taking things with a certain level of caution so that he can continue along the successful path he trod when he finished as Moto2 runner-up in his rookie season.

“I am pleased because after the operation I have noticed quite an improvement. I can ride a motocross bike and that is a good sign. I feel more sure of myself and my sight is almost back to 100%, every week I can see better and that is important. I feel comfortable enough to go out on a track, which is what I am dying to do. You have to take things calmly, but in the meantime I am getting fit physically, I am doing a lot of work in the gymnasium and a lot of cycling so that I can start the pre-season in tip-top form”.
